Married
couple separated by US immigration due to a 30-year old
marijuana possession offense
Debbie and Terry VanDuzee
My name is Debbie VanDuzee. I am petitioning the
U.S. Government. I have sent out three rounds of letters to
Congressmen, both Senators and those in the House. I've sent
letters to the President, Vice-President, contacted all
kinds of people in the media and still, I have not seen my
husband since March 10, 2003.
I have been married nearly one year and cannot get my
husband, Terry, into the US. They will not allow him to
cross the US/ Canadian border because, in 1978/1979 he had
two simple counts of possession of marijuana under 30 grams
in Canada, for which he has a Canadian pardon. My husband is
a Canadian citizen.
The U.S. Government says, that this is the reason that he
has been denied access into the U.S., even for a visit. If
anyone is a citizen from outside the U.S. and they have more
than one count of possession of marijuana, they are not
allowed in the U.S. period!

It was recommended by a government official that I
circulate a petition against the unfair policy that prevents
my husband and I from being together. We would appreciate
your support in your signing this to let the government know
how you feel.
Please sign your name, address, phone number. It will be
greatly appreciated. Please go to this website to
